Alternative Process

Throughout my years at UArts, I was exposed to many alternative photographic processes in addition to digital photography. The first grouping of images are cyannotypes that I exposed to sunlight in the creek’s waterfalls behind my family home. I then washed the large prints in a kiddie pool and hung them to dry on a line. The second grouping of images are from a series of prints using burned and scratched 35mm negatives and a limited amount of fixer to create the old-timey/spooky feel. The third grouping are from a series attempting to imitate the photographic style of Ansel Adams using a 4x5 traditional film camera and sheet film and then digitally scanned. I travelled to mountains in central Pennsylvania to create these images.
